In one case, compressed air motors are used to power tools to clean burrs left on parts after the casting process.
The need: A customer was experiencing high wear and replacement cost of the brushes, as well as poor quality cleaning with its existing equipment. They needed a robust motor that had an operating speed of approximately 3600 r/min and air pressure of 6 bars. The motor also needed to be compact and work in both forward and reverse directions. Additionally, it needed to be integrated into the tooling for semi-automated operation.
The solution: We recommended our MR39-3800-KL reversible motor which is compact and meets the technical specifications of the application, as well as providing a long lifetime. The motor was also supplied with a collet holder which is secured safely by a screw.
The outcome: Since using our motor, the customer has been able to reduce the cost of its consumable brushes, and deliver a better quality of finish on the final component. The customer has also been able to reduce handheld operation and semi-automate the process.
