Channel Partner Experience at Chicago Pneumatic Headquarters

A Strategic Initiative to Strengthen Partnerships

In February 2025, the Brazilian Chicago Pneumatic (CP) Customer Center launched a key initiative to strengthen engagement with its top distributor partners. Selected partners were invited to Chicago Pneumatic headquarters to enhance relationships, increase brand awareness, and deepen their knowledge of Chicago Pneumatic tools.

To support this initiative, a campaign called “Ça Va Nantes” was introduced. It rewarded high-performing partners who exceeded their targets and actively contributed to key strategic initiatives, such as competence development and participation in trade shows featuring Chicago Pneumatic brands.

In total, three distributors: Nortel, CPI Locações and Anhanguera Ferramentas, three Chicago Pneumatic sales representatives, and one service technician were selected to take part in the training program at the Chicago Pneumatic headquarters in Nantes (France).

  • Product and Value Based Sales (VBS) training sessions (focused on controlled torque and material removal)

  • Insights into the development process for new tools

  • Roundtable discussions with Service and R&D teams

  • A visit to downtown Nantes

Partner’s Perspective

What was your relationship with Chicago Pneumatic before the visit?

I’ve known the Chicago Pneumatic brand since 2003, when I started working as a sales representative for a distributor. Since then, I’ve always recognized Chicago Pneumatic as a premium brand of pneumatic tools with a strong presence in the market.

What changed your perspective after visiting our headquarters?

My confidence in the brand has significantly increased. I gained a deeper understanding of new technologies, and the direction Chicago Pneumatic  is heading.

Now, when interacting with colleagues and customers, I can speak with authority about how the tools are developed and manufactured. I also better understand how Chicago Pneumatic listens to customer feedback to continuously improve its products.

Another important change is how our end customers perceive us. They recognize that we’ve been trained at the headquarters, which reinforces our expertise and credibility. As a result, we are now seen as a stronger reference in the market.

Exchanging experiences with other participants—discussing tools, industries, and challenges—also opened my mind to new ways of working. For example, we introduced technical delivery approaches that have reduced failures and after-sales demand. We are also exploring more applications with our existing customers.

Do you have any success stories to share?

Absolutely. We now operate with greater consistency and confidence when advising end customers. This has improved our win rate, even with existing clients.

We’ve also seen increased market demand, especially for battery torque tools, which are currently a key focus for us. It’s an area where we’re gaining strong momentum.

The Chicago Pneumatic Brazil Sales Manager’s Perspective: Driving Business Impact Through Stronger Partnerships

The team in Nantes did an outstanding job delivering this initiative. The agenda, presentations, and even the use of subtitles significantly enhanced participant engagement.

The recognition and positive feedback from attendees have resonated within their organizations. This has led to their inclusion in partnership programs and has strengthened overall brand perception.

As a result, we’ve received invitations to trade shows, opened opportunities for new product lines—such as Hydraulics—and even established resource-sharing partnerships (for example, deploying shared field agents with distributors) to develop solutions in key regions.

At the same time, the relationship between the sales teams and their distributor networks has grown stronger, along with the perceived value delivered.

This initiative has been a great success, and we’re already looking forward to the next one.
